HALLoween

This year will be our first HALL-oween party (get it, because our last name is Hall? Hahahahaha.) I thought I’d put together a few costume ideas, so that nobody has an excuse not to attend!

In my experience, choosing a costume has two steps. First, pick a character. This year’s theme is Heroes and Villains, so choose any hero, villain, anti-hero, or sidekick! It can be from a book, movie, TV show, anime, comic book, Disney movie, play…you get the point. It could even be a personal hero or a civilian hero, like a firefighter, doctor, Mother Theresa, your mom, etc.

Second, you have to pick a level of commitment. In my head, there are three levels.
Cosplay – These are the people that sew their costumes or buy expensive, elaborate ones. They put a lot of thought into every detail of the costume.
Casual – This is everyone in between. If they make the costume, it’s a simpler version, or they pick up a full pre-made costume from a party store. This could also be a basic outfit inspired by a character, using things they already have in their closet. (For some really great examples of this method, check out DisneyBound.
Cheater – This is the person that picks up a Tshirt with a logo on it, or paints a logo on a Tshirt they already have.

Here are some pictures of costumes at every level:

Regardless of what character you choose and your level of intensity, I can’t wait to see you at HALLoween!
